Pest Control

  • Ants

House ants generally invade homes in search of food and warmth. They will eat most foods found in a typical household, but they are especially fond of meals that contain sugar. If they get inside your home, you will most likely find them near sources of sugary food or warm areas near insulation and heating units. Like other ant species, odorous house ants tend to collect bacteria on their bodies when they crawl on contaminated floors. They then spread this bacteria to other surfaces as well as any food that they access. If a house ant infestation is not dealt with, it will most likely continue to grow. Protective Pest Control’s expert technicians can exterminate the ants and almost any other pest in no time. Call us today to receive your free quote and get started on the extermination process.

  • Bees and Wasps

Bees and wasps are more than a nuisance, they can be dangerous. Keep your family safe from these aggressive insects by calling Protective Pest Control at (561) 791-0263; we'll take care of any bees and wasps you may already have, and make sure they don't come back. A constant buzzing in the walls of a home may signify a wasp or bee infestation. Many times individual bees or wasps can be seen emerging from small holes in exterior walls or overhangs. While their nests do minimal property damage compared to some insects, they can still have a significant impact on the residents of infested homes. They can present a significant health risk to those allergic to a sting. Even someone without an allergy can be seriously injured when encountering a swarm of wasps or bees. Doing it yourself can be tricky. In addition to the health risks, there are other possible complications when it comes to exterminating or removing a hive or nest. Whether a swarm of bees is relocated or eliminated, the entire honeycomb has to be removed. If any of the original hive is left behind, another swarm of bees will be attracted to the honeycomb and start the invasion over again. It takes an experienced eye to find the location of a hidden honeycomb and all of the entrances and exits bees may be using to enter the walls of a home.

  • Termite Extermination

Termites can be a major problem for homeowners, causing an estimated $1 billion in damage to homes each year in the United States. Unlike other disasters such as fires or tornadoes, however, damage caused by termites is rarely covered by your homeowners' insurance. While most homeowners believe they can't do anything to prevent a termite infestation, getting an annual termite inspection is a great way to prevent major damage by catching any problems early. Call (561) 791-0263 or send us an email to schedule a termite inspection.

  • Ticks

Protective Pest Control wants to protect your family from ticks, especially if they enjoy being out in the yard. We consider pets to be a part of the family, and keeping your four-legged friends free from ticks is an important part of pest control. Call Us at (561) 791-0263 and we'll put together a plan to exterminate ticks from your yard and home. Ticks vary in color. They have four pairs of legs and no antennae. There are two groups of ticks, sometimes called the "hard" ticks and "soft" ticks. Hard ticks have a hard shield behind their mouth and when they are lacking food they form into the shape of a flat seed. Soft ticks do not have the hard shield and are shaped like a large raisin.

  • White Flies

White flies are commonly found among houseplants and vegetable gardens, appearing as tiny yellowish moth-like insects with white waxy wings, and are typically seen resting in large clusters on leaf bottoms. Their craving for plant juices can result in extensive leaf damage, and a serious infestation is difficult to manage. Signs of a white fly outbreak include leaves that appear shiny from the honeydew they secrete. This honeydew will in turn attract other insect pests to the host plant as well, leading to further pest problems, disease and damage, and will eventually spark the growth of a black mold that interferes with the plant's food production. Both adults and nymphs feed on plant juices, and affected leaves will quickly turn brown or yellow before falling off and subsequently weakening the plant. A magnifying glass will probably reveal clusters of their tiny white oblong eggs on leaf bottoms, from which will hatch nymphal "crawlers." At room temperature, these will develop into adults in about 25 days. It is important to act quickly because white flies reproduce rapidly and aren't choosy concerning host plants, their presence can soon become overwhelming once established. The adults will swarm up in clouds if disturbed before settling back down onto your plants. The damage they cause is not only unsightly but will rapidly kill your plants without effective treatment.
