  David Mittleman, M.D.

  Eye Physician and Surgeon

  Born and raised in White Plains, New York, David settled in West Palm Beach in 1992. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He did his ophthalmology residency at The Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. David is Board Certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology. Practicing general ophthalmology, David has honed his surgical skills and has developed a reputation as one the finest cataract surgeons in the Palm Beaches. David has repeatedly been chosen as a surgical investigator for national lens implant protocols including the newest accommodative cataract implants. His care and treatment also includes a large volume of glaucoma, diabetic, retina, pediatric, and cornea patients. David is on staff at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and utilizes The Laser and Surgical Center of the Palm Beaches for his procedures. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society.

  Elon Luzon, O.D.

  Eye Physician

  Raised in New Jersey, Elon now makes his home in West Palm Beach. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Maryland and his Visual Science degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Elon also earned his Doctor of Optometry degree and completed his internship training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. His externship training was completed in South Florida and at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Elon is Board Certified through the National Board Of Examiners in Optometry. Prior to his relocation to Florida, Elon practiced as an optometric physician in New York. In addition to treating and managing ocular diseases, Elon specializes in contact lens fittings. His professional memberships include the Florida Optometric Association, the American Optometry Association, and the Palm Beach County Optometric Society. Elon has served as treasurer and president for the Palm Beach County Optometric Society.

  Justina Vasiliauskas, OD

  Eye Physician

  Born and raised in Lithuania, Justina now makes her home in West Palm Beach. She received her baccalaureate degree in Biology from University of Florida where she graduated summa cum laude and her Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York College of Optometry. Justina completed her internship at State University of New York College of Optometry, training in various specialty clinics including hard-to-fit specialty contact lenses, low vision, neuro-ophthalmic diseases, glaucoma, retina and other ocular diseases. She also completed externship training in primary care and surgical co-management in New Hampshire, Florida, and Virginia. She is board certified through the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Her special interests are in treating and managing dry eye disease, anterior segment conditions and fitting contact lenses. Justina speaks English, Lithuanian, and conversational Spanish.

  Cassandra Onofrey, M.D.

  Eye Physician and Surgeon

  Dr. Cassandra Onofrey moved to Florida in 1996 to complete her training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology as well as fellowships in both Neuro-Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic Surgery. Her research has been published in national ophthalmology journals and presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and at her subspecialty society, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She established her private practice in South Florida in 2002 dedicated to cosmetic and reconstructive Oculoplastic Surgery. She specializes in eyelid, tearing and eye socket disorders. Her diverse surgical practice encompasses aesthetic patients interested in cosmetic upper and lower lid surgery as well as functional patients requesting correction of eyelid malpositions and removal of eyelid growths. She has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of eyelid skin cancers and works closely with Mohs Dermatologists to achieve complete tumor excision with functional and aesthetically pleasing reconstructions. She is Board Certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Onofrey lives in Jupiter with her husband and two children and enjoys boating.

  Steven Edens, M.D.

  Born and raised in Oklahoma, Steven now makes his home in West Palm Beach. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma and earned his medical degree cum laude from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He was selected for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, a prestigious medical honor society. He then completed his internship and residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he served as chief resident. Dr. Edens is Board Certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology. Practicing general ophthalmology, he treats a wide variety of ocular diseases. He also performs various ophthalmic procedures including cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and pterygium surgery. He serves on the board of directors at Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches and teaches pterygium surgery to ophthalmology residents on a charity basis.

  Jackson Goldberg, M.D.

  Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Jackson now makes his home in West Palm Beach. He graduated with high honors with a degree in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his medical degree with honors at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas at Houston. He was selected for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, a prestigious medical honor society. He then completed his internship at The University of Texas Dell Medical School and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern where he served as chief resident his final year. Practicing general ophthalmology, he treats a wide variety of ocular diseases. He also performs various ophthalmic procedures including cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and eyelid procedures. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, The Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society and Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches.

  Louis Michaelos, D.O.

  Dr. Louis Michaelos is a third-generation ophthalmologist inspired by the emotional impact of restoring vision. He graduated magna cum laude in Biology from Stetson University and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University, where he served as class president and was inducted into Psi Sigma Alpha. After completing an internship in South Miami and a residency at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine as chief resident, he finished a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Michaelos is board-certified by the National Board of Examiners in Ophthalmology. Drawn to the unique blend of surgery and patient care in ophthalmology, he specializes in corneal transplantation, LASIK, refractive lens exchange, and advanced cataract surgery. In private practice since 2018, he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Pinellas County Ophthalmology Society. Passionate about innovation and improving patient outcomes, Dr. Michaelos is dedicated to advancing the field of ophthalmology.
